The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:41 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Pierre Brien, John Cannis, Marlene Jennings, Walt Lastewka, Ian Murray, Charlie Penson, Jerry Pickard and Susan Whelan.

Acting Member present: Michel Bellehumeur for Antoine Dubé.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw and Geoffrey Kieley, Research Officers.

Witness: From the Department of Industry: Irving Miller, Legal Counsel.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Wednesday, May 10, 2000, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-5, An Act to establish the Canadian Tourism Commission (See Minutes of Proceedings, Tuesday, May 30, 2000, Meeting No. 57).

The Committee resumed to clause-by-clause consideration of the Bill.

The Committee resumed consideration of Clause 4.
