Thursday, May 18, 2000
The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Antoine Dubé, Marlene Jennings, Dan McTeague, Ian Murray, Charlie Penson, Jerry Pickard and Susan Whelan.
Other Member present: Dennis Mills.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw and Geoffrey Kieley, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Council of Grocery Distributors: Nick Jennery, President and Chief Executive Officer; David Wilkes, Vice-President, Ontario Region and Trade Relations. From Democracy Watch: Duff Conacher, Coordinator.
Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), a Review of the Competition Act.
Nick Jennery made a statement, and with David Wilkes answered questions.
At 10:03 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 10:07 a.m., the sitting resumed.
