On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities adopted the following motion:
That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of at least six meetings on housing starts in relation to federal programs in Canada; that the committee invite the Minister of Housing and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation to appear separately for at least two hours each; that the committee invite other witnesses selected by its members to appear; that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House; and that pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
