On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities adopted the following motion:
That the committee invite the following individuals to testify for two hours each: (a) the Hon. Patty Hajdu, Minister of Jobs and Families, accompanied by officials; and (b) the Hon. Joël Lightbound, Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and Quebec Lieutenant; to answer the committee’s questions about the Cúram software with the goal of developing a rapid and effective action plan to resolve problems in the processing of the Old Age Security (OAS) benefit claims and to provide an update on past and future cost overruns; and that the ministers testify no later than March 12, 2026.
