Motion Text

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should recognize the needs and values of the Quebec nation and act on the unanimous requests of the Quebec National Assembly by (i) refusing to participate financially in the Lower Churchill hydro-electric project, (ii) not proceeding with a bill that would have the effect of reducing Quebec’s political weight in the House of Commons, (iii) reversing its unilateral decision to table a bill to create a canadian securities commission.
