M-166 Violence against women

Motion Text

That, in the opinion of the House, the government should: (a) heed the call of the September 2009 G8 International Conference on Violence Against Women to "Respect women, respect the world"; (b) implement strategies to combat violence against women, including state-sanctioned violence, the trafficking of women and mass sexual violence in armed conflict; and (c) support a comprehensive approach to the problem, including the application and implementation of the Responsibility to Protect Doctrine, the UN 2005 World Summit Outcome Document, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and related UN Security Council Resolutions.
