QUATRIÈME RAPPORT

In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), your Committee has considered the issue of the situation of Iraq and has greed to report the following:  

Conformément au mandat que lui confère le paragraphe 108(2) du Règlement, votre Comité a examiné la question de la situation de l’Irak et a convenu de rapporter ce qui suit :

That, in view of the recent compelling evidence presented to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade, the Committee call upon the Government of Canada to increase our involvement in ongoing efforts with members of the United Nations to relieve the existing humanitarian crisis in Iraq and contribute to averting the certain humanitarian catastrophe that would be caused by a war on that country.

Que, à la lumière des preuves convaincantes présentées récemment au Comité permanent des affaires étrangères et du commerce international, le Comité exhorte le gouvernement du Canada à participer encore plus intensivement aux efforts déployés actuellement auprès des membres des Nations Unies pour soulager la crise humanitaire qui sévit actuellement en Irak et à faire le nécessaire pour contribuer à éviter la catastrophe humanitaire qu’entraînerait sans nul doute une guerre contre ce pays.
