In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(1), your Committee established a Sub-Committee and assigned it the responsibility of examining issues of international trade, trade disputes and investment.

Conformément au mandat que lui confère l’article 108(1) du Règlement, votre Comité a mis sur pied un Sous-Comité et lui a donné le mandat d’examiner les questions concernant le commerce international, les différends commerciaux et les investissements internationaux

The Sub-Committee submitted its Third Report to the Committee on October 30, 2001. 

Le Sous-comité a présenté son troisième rapport au Comité le 30 octobre 2001.

The Committee adopted the report, which reads as follows:

Votre Comité a adopté le rapport, dont voici le texte :

"In accordance with its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), your Sub-committee has considered the issue of the Sugar Industry and has agreed to report the following:

"Conformément au mandat que lui confère l'article 108(2) du Règlement, le Sous-comité a examiné la question de l'industrie du sucre et a convenu de faire le rapport suivant :

The Sub-committee wishes to highlight the specific concerns of Canada’s sugar industry and asks that their interests be taken into account in any future trade negotiations involving Canada.

The Sub-committee encourages the Government to continue its three-pronged approach(bilateral, regional and multilateral) in resolving trade irritants."

Le Sous-comité désire mettre en évidence les préoccupations particulières de l'industrie canadienne du sucre et demande que ses intérêts soient pris en considération lors de toute négociation commerciale éventuelle à laquelle le Canada serait mêlé, et

Le Sous-comité encourage le gouvernement à poursuivre son approche à trois volets (bilatérale, régionale et multilatérale) dans ses tentatives pour réduire les irritants commerciaux."
