Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the committee resumed its study of supporting, diversifying, and modernizing Quebec and Canada’s ports.

Julien Baudry and Carl Laberge made statements and answered questions.

On motion of Philip Lawrence, it was agreed, — That the committee invite Peter Neil Verleysen to appear as a witness for the committee’s tentative meeting on the changing landscape of truck drivers in Canada on March 23, 2026.

At 12:04 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:12 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Steve Salmons, Anick Métivier and Hélène Reeves made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Xavier Barsalou-Duval moved, — That the Port of Montreal make its remediation plan for the contaminated lands in Contrecœur available to the public and submit it to the committee, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), and that the committee invite the Port to comply with municipal regulations and Quebec environmental laws.

Debate arose thereon.

At 12:43 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:51 p.m., the meeting resumed.

It was agreed, — That debate on the motion of Xavier Barsalou-Duval be adjourned and that the committee resume debate on the motion at the start of the meeting of Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 1:03 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
