Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, January 26, 2026, the subcommittee resumed its study of the current situation for democracy and human rights defenders around the world.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That, for the study of internally and externally displaced people across the world, members of the subcommittee send the names of all supplementary witnesses to the clerk of the subcommittee by noon on Friday, May 8, 2026.

At 5:36 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
