The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by Kelly McCauley regarding a witness who submitted his expense claim to the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by Peter Schiefke regarding a witness who submitted his expense claim to the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the subcommittee resumed its study on budget submissions.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food be granted a study budget of $54,300.00 for its study of business risk management programs in Canada’s agriculture sector.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,500.00 for its study of the state of the journalism and media sectors.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a study budget of $16,000.00 for its study of Canada’s trade with North and West Africa.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a study budget of $23,500.00 for its study of free trade within Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a study budget of $9,750.00 for its study of Canada’s trade with Japan.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a study budget of $22,500.00 for its review of Canada’s Indo-Pacific strategy.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a study budget of $30,450.00 for its study of federal spending power.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Health be granted a study budget of $14,500.00 for its consideration of Bill C 224, An Act to amend the Food and Drugs Act (natural health products).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be granted a study budget of $23,450.00 for its study consideration of Bill C-20, An Act respecting the establishment of Build Canada Homes.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be granted a study budget of $18,750.00 for its study of housing starts in relation to federal programs.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a study budget of $89,350.00 for its consideration of Bill S 2, An act to amend the Indian Act (new registration entitlements).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a study budget of $21,500.00 for its study of economic and supply chain impacts of U.S. tariffs on Canada's metallurgical and advanced manufacturing sectors.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights be granted a study budget of $46,600.00 for its consideration of Bill C-16, An Act to amend certain Acts in relation to criminal and correctional matters (child protection, gender-based violence, delays and other measures).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Official Languages be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,500.00 for its study of the use of French in government communications and in federal institutions.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Official Languages be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,500.00 for its study of the quota of French-language music imposed on French-language radio media.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Official Languages be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,000.00 for its consideration of the Official Languages (advancement of equality of status and use of English and French) regulations.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a study budget of $2,000.00 for its consideration of the Main Estimates 2026-27.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Accounts be granted a study budget of $3,250.00 for its study of Public Accounts of Canada 2024 and Public Accounts of Canada 2025.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a study budget of $24,000.00 for its study of the current state of civic resilience in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Natural Resources be granted a supplementary study budget of $17,100.00 for its study of Canadian energy exports.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be granted a study budget of $20,750.00 for its study of the role of the Canada Border Services Agency in the H2O Highway corridor and port clearance practices.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a study budget of $38,800.00 for its study of Canada's dual use and defence research needs.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Accounts be granted a travel budget of $33,010.00 to travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia, from August 22 to 26, 2026, to attend the Canadian Council of Public Accounts Committees and Canadian Council of Legislative Auditors Annual Conference.

At 1:44 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
