The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by the Hon. Judy A. Sgro regarding a witness who submitted his expense claim to the Standing Committee on International Trade after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the subcommittee resumed its study on budget submissions.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $800.00 for its study of suicide prevention among veterans.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food be granted a study budget of $28,650.00 for its study of science in Canadian agriculture and the closure of research centers.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a study budget of $15,500.00 for its study of Canada’s trade with the Mercosur countries.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a study budget of $13,500.00 for its study of recent developments in Canada’s trade relations with China and with Qatar.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development be granted a study budget of $43,750.00 for its study of industrial carbon pricing.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,250.00 for its review of the Conflict of Interest Act.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics be granted a study budget of $30,900.00 for its statutory review of the Lobbying Act.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on the Status of Women be granted a study budget of $50,650.00 for its study of abuse and financial vulnerability of senior women.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on the Status of Women be granted a supplementary study budget of $500.00 for its study of section 810 of the Criminal Code and women's safety.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Finance be granted a study budget of $34,750.00 for its study of household debt in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be granted a study budget of $26,200.00 for its study of Atlantic mackerel and Atlantic herring fisheries.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be granted a study budget of $28,200.00 for its study of the factors determining opening and closing dates of marine harvesting seasons.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be granted a study budget of $18,250.00 for its study of recreational and traditional fishing for softshell clam (Mya arenaria).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities be granted a study budget of $35,450.00 for its consideration of Bill C-222, An Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act and the Canada Labour Code (death of a child).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a study budget of $56,400.00 for its consideration of Bill C-10, An Act respecting the Commissioner for Modern Treaty Implementation.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a study budget of $58,600.00 for its study of issues related to Indian Act registration.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a study budget of $18,150.00 for its study of opportunities, risks, and regulation of AI in Canada’s strategic industries.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a study budget of $16,900.00 for its study of the federal government's electric vehicle (EV) policies.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a supplementary study budget of $381.00 for its study of Canada's underlying productivity gaps and capital outflow.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights be granted a supplementary study budget of $15,000.00 for its consideration of Bill C-9, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (hate propaganda, hate crime and access to religious or cultural places).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a study budget of $21,300.00 for its study of the comprehensive expenditure review.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,500.00 for its study of the actions of the "Longest Ballot Committee" in recent Canadian elections.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,000.00 for its study of the challenges regarding special ballot voting.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a study budget of $79,050.00 for its study of the current situation for democracy and human rights defenders around the world.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be granted a supplementary study budget of $4,500.00 for its consideration of Bill C-8, An Act respecting cyber security, amending the Telecommunications Act and making consequential amendments to other Acts.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,000.00 for its study of private sector investment in research and development in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a study budget of $38,800.00 for its study of the implications of the Canada-China Preliminary Joint Arrangement on Canada’s electric vehicle sector.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a supplementary study budget of $2,500.00 for its study of the impact of the criteria for awarding federal funding on research excellence in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,000.00 for its study of artificial intelligence.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,000.00 for its study of antimicrobial resistance.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities be granted a budget of $45,700.00 for its study of supporting, diversifying, and modernizing Quebec and Canada’s ports.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a travel budget of $85,305.56 to travel to New York, New York, United States of America, in the spring of 2026, to attend the twenty-fifth session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII).

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Natural Resources be granted a travel budget of $129,772.02 to travel to Helsinki, Finland; Lahti, Finland; Stockholm, Sweden; and Norrkoping, Sweden, in the winter - spring of 2026, in relation to its study of the forestry industry.
