Nathalie Lachance made a statement and, with Isabelle Laurin, Ronald Ajavon and Marco Fiola, answered questions.
Mario Beaulieu moved, — Be it resolved that the committee report to the House its desire:
- to see the implementation of the regulations of the new Official Languages Act take place as quickly as possible;
- to see the new asymmetric approach of the Official Languages Act in favour of French in Quebec become a reality.
Debate arose thereon.
Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault moved, — That the motion be amended by adding the words “c) That the committee request a governmental response”.
At 12:45 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Guillaume Deschênes-Thériault and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
