Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the committee commenced its study of minority-language education continuum.

Daniel Dion, Marie-Andrée Asselin and Geoffroy Krajewski made statements and, with Denis Desgagné, answered questions.

At 11:26 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 11:28 a.m., the meeting resumed.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 12:13 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:15 p.m., the meeting resumed.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $500, for the briefing session by the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages on his mandate and priorities, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $500, for the briefing session by the President of Treasury Board on his mandate and priorities, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $41,900, for the study of minority-language education continuum, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $5,500, for the study of the renewal of the employment contract for parliamentary interpreters, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the questionnaires submitted by minority-language school boards and the briefs submitted by provincial and territorial departments of education as part of the study on the minority-language education continuum during the first session of the 44th Parliament be deemed to have been submitted during the current session, be distributed to committee members, and be taken into consideration.

It was agreed, — That the committee reiterate its invitation to provincial and territorial departments of education to submit a brief for the study on the minority-language education continuum.

At 12:59 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
