Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the committee resumed its study of draft regulations on the use of French in federally regulated private businesses.

Kelly Burke made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:34 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:42 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(f) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 25, 2025, the committee resumed its study of the quota of French-language music imposed on French-language radio media.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Report on the Quota of French-language Vocal Music in Canadian Radio Media".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 5:00 p.m., on Monday, June 8, 2026.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

ORDERED, — That the clerk and analyst of the committee, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.
The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Chair respond to the letter of May 8, 2026, from Marc Barbeau concerning the invitation to Mr. Vagn Sørensen to appear before the committee.

At 5:33 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
