Pursuant to the order of reference of Monday, February 2, 2026, the committee resumed consideration of Bill C-16, An Act to amend certain Acts in relation to criminal and correctional matters (child protection, gender-based violence, delays and other measures).

Jennifer Dunn, Monique St. Germain and Kristin Szabo made statements and answered questions.

At 5:34 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:39 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Kendra Cooke, Angela Marinos and Andrew Ullock made statements and, with Lisa Henderson, answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

That the proposed budget of $46,600 for the study of Bill C-16, An Act to amend certain Acts in relation to criminal and correctional matters (child protection, gender-based violence, delays and other measures), be adopted.

At 6:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
