The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $41,650.00, for the study of Canada's underlying productivity gaps and capital outflow, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $49,900.00, for the study of a defence industrial strategy, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, September 22, 2025, the committee commenced its study of a defence industrial strategy.

Kendal Hembroff and Wendy Hadwen made statements and, with MGen Jeff Smyth, answered questions.

At 5:35 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 5:43 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Ashwin K. Iyer, Madeleine Redfern and Heather Exner-Pirot made statements and answered questions.

At 6:36 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
