Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,000, for the study of Bill C-27, An Act to give effect to the Final Self-Government Agreement for the Tlegohli Got’ine and to make consequential amendments to other Acts, be adopted.
Sherry Hodgson and Paul Tan made statements and answered questions.
At 11:40 a.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 11:46 a.m., the meeting resumed.
Pursuant to Standing Order 75(1), consideration of Clause 1 (short title) and of the Preamble was postponed.
The Chair called Clause 2.
The committee commenced its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.
After debate, by unanimous consent, Clauses 2 to 44 inclusive carried severally.
Clause 1, Short Title, carried.
The Preamble carried.
The Title carried.
The Bill was adopted.
ORDERED, — That the Chair report the Bill to the House.
At 11:58 a.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 12:11 p.m., the meeting resumed.
Merlyn Recinos, Inuaraq Angutimarik and Brian Tattuinee made statements and answered questions.
At 1:04 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 1:08 p.m., the meeting resumed in camera.
The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
At 1:16 p.m., the meeting was suspended.
At 1:17 p.m., the meeting resumed.
It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Beyond Enforcement: Supporting Indigenous-Led Public Safety and Well-being Initiatives".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
At 1:21 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
