Pursuant to the order of reference of Friday, February 27, 2026, the committee commenced consideration of Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Indian Act (new registration entitlements).

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $89,350, for the study of Bill S-2, An Act to amend the Indian Act (new registration entitlements), be adopted.

Sharon Mclvor, Pamela Palmater and Marjolaine Étienne made statements and answered questions.

At 9:26 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 9:31 a.m., the meeting resumed.

Zoë Craig-Sparrow, Beverly Asmann, Jerry Daniels and Kyra Wilson made statements and, with Troy Chalifoux, answered questions.

At 10:27 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
