Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the committee resumed its study of the definition of "work" and the use of section 107 in the Canada Labour Code.

Notice of Motion

Marilène Gill gave notice of the following motion:

That the committee invite the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), the longshoremen's unions (CUPE) of the ports of Quebec City and Montreal and the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW) - Transportation District Lodge 140 - to testify on the study on the definition of "work" and the use of section 107 in the Canada Labour Code; that the committee hold at least one additional meeting for this purpose.

Pascal Chan, Daniel Safayeni, Christopher Pigott and, with, David Neufeld made statements and with, David-Alexandre Leblanc, answered questions.

At 12:06 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 12:12 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Dalia Gesualdi-Fecteau, Wesley Lesosky, and Pedro Antunes made statements and answered questions.

At 1:07 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
