Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the committee resumed its study of government mandates and key priorities,

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $38,650, for the study of the impacts of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program on the labour market, be adopted.

The Secretary of State made a statement and, with Sandra Hassan and Colette Kaminsky, answered questions.

At 4:33 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:39 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 18, 2025, the committee resumed its study of the definition of "work" and the use of section 107 in the Canada Labour Code.

Tim Perry, Jasmin Guénette, Christina Santini and Kevin R. Piper made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Rosemarie Falk moved, — That the committee invite the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure and the Minister of Jobs and Families, for no less than one hour each, separately, to testify in relation to the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2025-2026 before the December adjournment.

Amendment

Jessica Fancy moved, — That the motion be amended by deleting the words “before the December adjournment”.

Caroline Desrochers moved, — That the amendment be amended by deleting the word “no less than” and "separately".

The Chair ruled the subamendment out of order as it modifies the motion and not the amendment.
