Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, March 9, 2026, the committee resumed its study of household debt in Canada.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2026 Budget, the committee extend the deadline for the submission of written briefs to Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. (ET).

Ronald Butler, Peter MacKenzie and Vasiliki Bednar made statements and answered questions.

At 4:32 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:35 p.m., the meeting resumed.

André Bolduc, Wesley Cowan, Maude Pugliese and Douglas Hoyes made statements and answered questions.

At 5:31 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
