It was agreed, — That, regarding the study of single-use plastics prohibition regulations, members shall submit lists of requested witnesses not later than 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, December 3, 2025, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-241, An Act to establish a national strategy respecting flood and drought forecasting.

Tatiana Auguste and John Pomeroy made statements and answered questions.

At 4:43 p.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 4:53 p.m., the meeting resumed.

Doris Fortin made a statement and, with Gemma Boag, Aman Deep, Hieu Vu, Stephanie Lane and Kenza El Bied, answered questions.

Notice of Motion

Branden Leslie gave notice of the following motion:

That the committee request that the Office of the Prime Minister provide, in both official languages, an unredacted copy of the letter reportedly sent to the Prime Minister at the end of April 2026 by 14 Liberal Members of Parliament concerning environmental policy, clean electricity regulations, climate change, and the government’s credibility, as reported by CBC/Radio‑Canada in the article titled “14 Liberal MPs pen letter to Carney raising concerns over environmental backslide,” published on Friday, May 22, 2026; and that the letter be provided to the clerk of the committee no later than seven days following the adoption of this motion.

At 5:45 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
