Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(i) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, September 26, 2022, the committee resumed its study of international moonshot programs.

Arthur McDonald and Brandon Russell made statements and answered questions.

At 7:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Motion

Maxime Blanchette-Joncas moved, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs in relation to the study of research and scientific publication in French be extended to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

On motion of Richard Cannings, it was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of big science in Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $92,383.80, for the committee’s travel to Kelowna, Penticton, Kaleden and Vancouver, British Columbia, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and Sudbury, Lively and Chalk River, Ontario in the Winter of 2023, be adopted.

At 9:32 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
