The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, for the meeting of Monday, June 5, 2023, notwithstanding the committee’s routine motion, witnesses will have two and a half minutes to make their opening statements.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, April 24, 2023, the deputy head of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada be excused from appearing before the committee in relation to the redactions and improper translation of documents, after having complied with the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(vii), the committee commenced its study of subject matter of Main Estimates 2023‑24 and, pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (A), 2023‑24: Vote 1a under Department of Public Works and Government Services, referred to the committee on Monday, May 29, 2023.

The Minister made a statement and, with Karen Cahill, Annie Boudreau, Mireille Laroche, and Samantha Tattersall, answered questions.

Motion

Stephanie Kusie moved, — That the President of the Treasury Board be invited to appear before the committee during its study of the integrity regime.

Debate arose thereon.

By unanimous consent, the motion was withdrawn.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 6:12 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
