Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee proceeded to a briefing by Canada Post.

Rindala El-Hage made a statement and, with Nathalie Séguin, answered questions.

At 5:38 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:41 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee travel to Lévis, Quebec, Québec, Quebec, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Victoria, British Columbia, and Vancouver, British Columbia, in summer/fall 2022 in relation to its study of the National Shipbuilding Strategy, and that the necessary staff do accompany the committee.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the National Shipbuilding Strategy, the proposed budget in the amount of $100,544.30, for the committee’s travel to Lévis, Quebec, Québec, Quebec, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Victoria, British Columbia, and Vancouver, British Columbia, in summer/fall 2022, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

It was agreed, — That, for any trip by the committee as part of its study of the National Shipbuilding Strategy, the breakdown of members participating be as follows:

  • 3 Members of the Liberal Party
  • 2 Members of the Conservative Party
  • 1 Member of the Bloc Québécois, and
  • 1 Member of the New Democratic Party.

At 5:55 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
