Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 22, 2022, the committee resumed its study of Extradition Law reform.

Matthew Behrens, Rania Tfaily and Balpreet Singh made statements and answered questions.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:47 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Alex Neve, Joanna Harrington and Robert J. Currie made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That witnesses lists for the study of Canada’s bail system be submitted no later than Friday, February 10, 2023.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That given the technical difficulties that occurred during the meeting of Wednesday, February 1, 2023, the committee schedule be modified as follows:

Meeting of Wednesday, February 8, 2023: Witnesses on Extradition Law reform.

Meeting of Monday, February 13, 2023: Witnesses on Extradition Law reform followed by drafting instructions to analysts.

Meeting of Wednesday, February 15, 2023: Study on Canada’s Bail System – Minister of Justice and Officials.

At 5:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
