Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by subcommittee on the Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the subcommittee proceeded to a briefing on the current Situation in Hong Kong.

Sam Goodman, Ai-Men Lau, Albert Wai Yip Chan, and Joey Siu made statements and answered questions.

At 7:31 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:37 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, the subcommittee proceeded to a briefing on the current situation in the Philippines.

Cristina Palabay, Guy-Lin Beaudoin, Catherine Coumans, Emily Dwyer, and Maria Ressa made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $4,500.00, for the study of the impacts of COVID-19 on human trafficking and modern slavery, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That parties submit their witness lists for the study of the impacts of COVID-19 on human trafficking and modern slavery, to the Clerk, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

At 8:33 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
