The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee recognize access to high-speed Internet and a high-quality cellular network as essential and universal for 100% of Canadians; that, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee continues its work on a comprehensive study on the accessibility and affordability of telecommunications services in all regions of Canada, particularly in rural areas, which could include a study of telecommunications regulation and Canada's Connectivity Strategy; that the committee devotes a minimum of two meetings to this study before Friday, December 11, 2020, and report its findings to the House no later than February 2021.

It was agreed, — That the committee invite the Commissioner of Competition to provide a briefing on the work of the Office of the Competition Bureau of Canada.

It was agreed, — That pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of a minimum of six meetings to examine how the government of Canada, as it shifts its focus to recovery, can support industries in their transition to greener and more sustainable practices, with support for territorial development and innovation initiatives, in order to ensure that Canada builds back better and stronger with a continued focus on industry competitiveness and expanded sustainable trade opportunities. That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government table a comprehensive response thereto.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on issues related to the development and support of the aerospace industry; and that the committee devotes a minimum of four meetings to this study and report its findings and recommendations to the House.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the committee undertake a study on the Innovation Supercluster Initiative and the investments proposed surrounding industry leaders, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and post-secondary institutions identified in the five broad superclusters; in conducting its study, the committee examine the decision process made by the Government of Canada to elect the five superclusters identified as well as the efficacy and allocation of the funds provided towards the initiative and their projected improvements in business competitiveness and productivity; and that the committee devote a minimum of four meetings to this study and report its findings and recommendations to the House.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee examine investments in transportation electrification, and other low emission methods, both in vehicles and in heavy and specialized transportation, as well as issues related to the development and support of this industry and others that are innovating in low-emission technologies; and that the committee devote a minimum of four meetings to this study and report its findings and recommendations to the House.
