Canadians are Invited to Share Their Priorities for the 2022 Federal Budget
Ottawa, June 14, 2021 -
The House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance is inviting Canadians to share their thoughts on federal spending priorities. These submissions will be considered by the Committee as it prepares its report to the Minister of Finance with respect to the next federal budget.
“The Committee is once again pleased to invite Canadians and interested groups to submit their proposals for the next budget. As always, the Committee values the input of citizens and stakeholders during its pre-budget process and looks forward to reviewing your contributions,” said the Honourable Wayne Easter, P.C., M.P. for Malpeque and Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance.
The deadline for written submissions to the Committee is no later than Friday, 6 August 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (submissions received after this deadline will not be accepted). Written briefs must be submitted through the Committee’s website.
Submissions must be no longer than 2,000 words and be based on the following template. All text contained in the submission, including, but not limited to, graphs, quotes, images and footnotes, counts towards the submission’s 2,000 words limit. Only one submission per individual or organization will be accepted. Following translation, the submissions will be posted on the Committee’s website.
More information about this year’s pre-budget consultations is available in the Studies section of the Committee’s website.
