Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Friday, October 23, 2020, the committee commenced its study of the challenges and issues faced by the arts, culture, heritage and sport sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Arts, Culture, Heritage and Sport Sectors".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4:00 p.m. (EDT) Wednesday, April 14, 2021.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee devote at least one meeting before the summer recess to hear from witnesses on the continuing challenges for publishers, creators and artists as it pertains to fair compensation for their work in the field of educational publishing in Canada.

ORDERED, — That the clerk of the committee prepare a letter to be sent to Facebook Canada’s legal counsel, enquiring as to whether the courtesy copy of the committee's summons of Mark Zuckerberg, provided to them on Thursday, March 25, 2021, was shared with Facebook’s American legal counsel.

At 11:30 a.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
