Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, February 24, 2021 and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 25, 2021, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-206, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (qualifying farming fuel).

Philip Lawrence made a statement and answered questions.

At 3:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:57 p.m., the sitting resumed.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:43 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the committee continue its consideration of Bill C-206, An Act to amend the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act (qualifying farming fuel); that three meetings be held for that purpose; that each meeting include two one-hour panels; that each panel include three witnesses; that witnesses be allocated five minutes for their opening statements; that parties submit their lists of witnesses to the committee clerk no later than Friday, March 12, 2021, at 5 p.m. (ET); and that the committee accept briefs about this bill.

It was agreed, — That all documents submitted for committee business that do not come from a federal department, members’ offices, or that have not been translated by the Translation Bureau be sent for prior linguistic review by the Translation Bureau before being distributed to members.

It was agreed, — That the clerk inform each witness who is to appear before the committee that the House Administration support team must conduct technical tests to check the connectivity and the equipment used to ensure the best possible sound quality; and that the Chair advise the committee, at the start of each meeting, of any witness who did not perform the required technical tests.

At 5:36 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
