Pursuant to the order of reference of Monday, January 27, 2020, and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, the committee resumed a briefing on the Canadian response to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

MGen T.J. Cadieu and Tina Namiesniowski made statements and, with MGen A.M.T. Downes and Theresa Tam, answered questions.

At 4:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Kennes Lin, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Avvy Go, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, and Eileen de Villa, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, made statements and answered questions.

Robert Kitchen gave notice of the following motion:

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), that the committee order all documents, including briefing notes, memos, emails, text messages, and summaries of phone calls prepared for the Minister of Health, Minister of Transport, Minister of Public Safety, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of National Defence regarding the outbreak of the Coronavirus no later than February 28, 2020.

Robert Kitchen gave notice of the following motion:

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), that the committee order copies of all correspondence between the Government of Canada and provincial and territorial governments regarding the outbreak of the Coronavirus no later than February 28, 2020.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

Bonnie Henry, by videoconference from Victoria, British Columbia, made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:29 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the chair.
