The Acting Clerk informed the House of the unavoidable absence of the Speaker.

Whereupon, Mrs. Hughes (Algoma—Manitoulin—Kapuskasing), Assistant Deputy Speaker and Deputy Chair of Committees of the Whole, took the Chair, pursuant to Standing Order 8.

Government Orders

The Order was read for the consideration at report stage of Bill C-18, An Act to amend the Rouge National Urban Park Act, the Parks Canada Agency Act and the Canada National Parks Act, as reported by the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development without amendment.

Ms. McKenna (Minister of Environment and Climate Change), seconded by Ms. Chagger (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), moved, — That the Bill be concurred in at report stage.

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

Accordingly, the Bill was concurred in at report stage.

Pursuant to Standing Order 76.1(11), Ms. McKenna (Minister of Environment and Climate Change), seconded by Ms. Chagger (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), moved, — That the Bill be now read a third time and do pass.

Debate arose thereon.

Government Orders

The House resumed consideration of the motion of Ms. McKenna (Minister of Environment and Climate Change), seconded by Ms. Chagger (Leader of the Government in the House of Commons), — That Bill C-18, An Act to amend the Rouge National Urban Park Act, the Parks Canada Agency Act and the Canada National Parks Act, be now read a third time and do pass.

Private Members' Business

At 1:30 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 30(6), the House proceeded to the consideration of Private Members' Business.

The Order was read for the second reading and reference to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage of Bill C-308, An Act to provide for the incorporation of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and to make consequential amendments to other Acts.

Mr. Trost (Saskatoon—University), seconded by Mr. Viersen (Peace River—Westlock), moved, — That the Bill be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage.

Debate arose thereon.

Pursuant to Standing Order 93(1), the Order was dropped to the bottom of the order of precedence on the Order Paper.
