THE SUBCOMMITTEE ON INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS TO HOLD HEARINGS ON THE HUMAN RIGHTS SITUATION IN IRAN

Ottawa, May 06, 2016 -

The Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development will hold several events in recognition of Iran Accountability Week from 16 to 20 May, 2016. This is the 4th annual Iran Accountability Week for the Subcommittee.

The Subcommittee will dedicate two hearings to the study of the Iranian Regime’s record of human rights abuses against its own people including the detention of political prisoners, on 17 and 18 May 2016. The Subcommittee will also issue a joint statement. Subcommittee members may also make statements in the House of Commons Chamber regarding the Iranian Regime’s human rights record.
