Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee Wednesday, December 7, 2016, the Subcommittee resumed its study of the Human Rights Situation in South Sudan.

David Morley, by videoconference from Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Jonathan Pedneault, by videoconference from Oslo, Norway, made statements and answered questions.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That David Anderson, MP, and Marwan Tabbara, MP, jointly moved their motion on the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya.

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee study the human rights situation in the Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, with a focus on women’s and children’s health, access to services, the proposed repatriation to Somalia and the challenges faced by Kenya regarding Dadaab.

At 2:01 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
