Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development on Thursday, February 4, 2016, and the motion adopted by the Subcommittee on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, the Subcommittee resumed a briefing on the human rights situation in Iran.

Raheel Raza, by videoconference from Toronto, Ontario, Ladan Boroumand, by videoconference from Washington, D.C., Payam Akhavan, by videoconference from Oxford, United Kingdom, and Maryam Shafipour made statements and answered questions.

At 1:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:56 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Committee Business
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the news release concerning the briefing on the human rights situation in Iran be published as amended.

At 1:59 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
