Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2019-20: Vote 1 under Atomic Energy of Canada Limited, Vote 1 under Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Votes 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 under Natural Resources, Votes 1 and 5 under National Energy Board and Vote 1 under Northern Pipeline Agency, referred to the Committee on Thursday, April 11, 2019.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.

The Minister made a statement and, with Christyne Tremblay and Cheri Crosby, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

Motion

Shannon Stubbs moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee immediately invite the Minister of Natural Resources to appear before the Committee on Thursday, June 20, 2019, for no less than a full meeting, to advise the Committee of the government’s plan to build the Trans Mountain Expansion; and that this meeting be televised.

Debate arose thereon.

It was agreed, — That consideration of the motion be postponed until a future meeting.
