Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a), the Committee proceeded to a briefing on the ministerial mandate.

On motion of Scott Reid, it was agreed, — That in relation to the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, the Committee invite Kevin Lamoureux to appear.

The Hon. Dominic LeBlanc made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:21 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a), the Committee undertake a study of initiatives toward a family-friendly House of Commons; and that the Acting Clerk of the House of Commons, the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia be invited to appear on Tuesday, February 2, 2016.

It was agreed, — That at its meeting on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the Committee receive a one-hour briefing from the Analyst, in relation to the study of initiatives toward a family-friendly House of Commons; and that one hour be allocated to the consideration of matters relating to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a meeting of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be held late in the week of February 16, 2016; and that in preparation, Subcommittee members consult with caucus colleagues to identify priorities for the Committee’s study of initiatives toward a family-friendly House of Commons.

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
