Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee commenced consideration of Report 7, Fossil Fuel Subsidies, of the Spring 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, referred to the Committee on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

Michael Ferguson, Andrew Marsland and Stephen Lucas made statements.

At 9:08 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:38 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Michael Ferguson, Paul Shuttle and Andrew Marsland answered questions.

It was agreed, — That consideration of Report 7, Fossil Fuel Subsidies, of the Spring 2017 Reports of the Auditor General of Canada, be postponed until further notice; that the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel be invited to appear before the Committee on Thursday, October 26, 2017, to discuss the Committee’s power to summon persons and order the production of papers and records, in light of the meetings held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, and on Tuesday, October 24, 2017; and that, notwithstanding the routine motion governing transcripts of in camera meetings adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Clerk of the Committee be authorized to have the Evidence from the in camera portion of these meetings distributed to the Law Clerk and Parliamentary Counsel.

At 10:46 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
