Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c)(iii), the Committee resumed a briefing on the public service hiring process.

Chris Aylward and Dany Richard made statements and, with Amy Kishek and Nicolas Brunette-D’Souza, answered questions.

At 4:12 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:15 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Grep Phillips and Debi Daviau made statements and, with Deborah Cooper and Emily Watkins, answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:06 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c), the Committee undertake a study relating to the hiring process in the public service, and that the study be no fewer than two meetings.

It was agreed, — That the briefings on the public service hiring process of Thursday, September 20, 2018 and Thursday, October 4, 2018, be taken into consideration by the Committee in its study of the hiring process in the public service.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the Committee’s study of the hiring process in the public service, Members submit their witness lists to the Clerk of the Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the Committee’s study of hiring veterans for public service positions, Members submit their witness lists to the Clerk of the Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018.

At 5:26 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
