Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of small and medium enterprises (SME) in federal procurement.

Eugene Cornelius, by teleconference from Washington, D.C., made a statement and, with James Parker, by teleconference from Washington, D.C., answered questions.

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That Dan Murphy be invited to appear at an upcoming meeting in relation to the study of small and medium enterprises (SME) in federal procurement and the “Agile” procurement strategy, and that the analysts identify additional witnesses to appear at the same meeting to speak about other relevant procurement strategies.

It was agreed, — That the President of the Treasury Board be invited to appear before the Committee on Thursday, February 15, 2018, and that this meeting be televised, subject to room allocations and availability of multimedia services.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite representatives of Indigenous businesses in the construction sector to appear at an upcoming meeting in relation to procurement policies and access to contracts in the Parliamentary Precinct.

At 12:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
