Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 5, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of fire safety and emergency management in Indigenous communities.

Peter Beatty and Richard Kent made statements and answered questions.

Arnold Viersen gave notice of the following motion:

That, in light of the interim report published by the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls on November 1, 2017, the challenges highlighted by the Commissioners related to working with the Government of Canada and the Privy Council Office, and the Commissioners’ seven (7) procedural recommendations, the Committee invite the Privy Council Office to appear before the Committee to respond.

At 12:03 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Blaine Wiggins, Arnold, Jeff Eustache and Curtis Dick made statements and answered questions.

At 1:05 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
