Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Default Prevention and Management Policy.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Default Prevention and Management 2017".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Arial 12 point font, single line spacing and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of specific claims and comprehensive claims, the proposed budget in the amount of $148,018.50, for the Committee’s travel to British Columbia, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec during the Fall 2017, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

At 10:21 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:27 a.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Commissioners of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls to provide a briefing to the Committee on the Inquiry’s progress.

At 10:35 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
