Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the Committee’s study of the subject matter of Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Indian Act (elimination of sex-based inequities in registration), the list of witnesses be approved.
It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee, in consultation with the Chair and the analysts, prepare a draft budget in relation to its study of the subject matter of Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Indian Act (elimination of sex-based inequities in registration), for consideration by the Committee.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, November 3, 2016, the Committee consider the Supplementary Estimates (B); that the Committee invite the Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, with officials, to appear before the Committee on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 for two hours; and that the Committee also invite Cindy Blackstock, Clint Davis and Sylvia Maracle to appear in a subsequent one hour panel.
It was agreed, — That, in relation to the Committee’s study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities, the deadline for submitting briefs and completing the e-consultation be extended indefinitely.
At 3:58 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
