Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, June 13, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of poverty reduction strategies.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Breaking the Cycle: A Study on Poverty Reduction ".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That dissenting and/or supplementary opinions be in Arial 12 point font, single line spaced and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, after the presentation of the Committee's report to the House on poverty reduction strategies; and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

At 11:30 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:33 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the proposed budget in the amount of $27,211.60, for the Committee’s travel to Victoria, British Columbia in the fall 2017, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the proposed budget in the amount of $19,336.60, for the Committee’s travel to London, Ontario in the fall 2017, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the proposed budget in the amount of $18,531.60, for the Committee’s travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia in the fall 2017, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the Committee invite the Honourable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Families, Children and Social Development to appear on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the Committee invite the sponsor of Motion M-106, Marc Serré, to appear on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of advancing inclusion and quality of life for Canadian seniors, the Committee invite officials from relevant Departments and Agencies to appear on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

At 11:52 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
