Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, April 16, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of the impacts of methamphetamine abuse in Canada.

Karen Turner, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, Donald MacPherson, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, Ian Culbert, Rick Barnum and Lee Fulford made statements and answered questions.

At 4:27 p.m., Marilyn Gladu took the Chair.

At 4:57 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:59 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the study of the impacts of methamphetamine abuse in Canada, the proposed budget in the amount of $80,646.60, for the Committee’s travel to Vancouver, British Columbia, Calgary, Alberta, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Montréal, Québec in the Spring 2019, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion regarding the Committee's travel budget to Vancouver, British Columbia, Calgary, Alberta, Winnipeg, Manitoba and Montréal, Québec, adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, the Committee be authorized to provide hospitality and working meals during the trip.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $54,950.00, for the study of LGBTQ2 health in Canada, be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of violence faced by healthcare workers, members submit their prioritized lists of witnesses to the Clerk no later than Friday, March 8, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.

It was agreed, — That the motion adopted on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, regarding the Supplementary Estimates (B), 2018-19 and the Interim Estimates, 2019-20 be rescinded and replaced by the following:

That the Committee invite the Minister of Health, along with departmental officials, to appear as part of its upcoming study of the Main Estimates, 2019-20.

At 5:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
