Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Indigenous women in the federal justice and correctional systems.

Anne Kelly made a statement and, with Kelley Blanchette, Suzanne Brisebois, Michelle Van De Bogart, Angela Connidis, Margaret Buist and Mary-Luisa Kapelus, answered questions.

At 4:29 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Donald Meikle, Lisa Lalande, Joanne Cave and Adam Jagelewski made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted on November 2, 2017, the deadline for written submissions for the study of Indigenous women in the federal justice and correctional systems be extended to February 2, 2018.

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
