Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 14, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the economic security of women in Canada.

Louise Champoux-Paillé, by videoconference from Montreal, Quebec, Catherine Mavriplis and Doreen Parsons made statements and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

The Chair presented the Ninth Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure which read as follows:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendation:

1. That, in relation to the study of economic security of women in Canada, four (4) more meetings be added to the work plan adopted on Tuesday, February 14, 2017, in order to hear new witnesses identified to provide insight on, among other topics, specific issues faced by immigrant women, women performing unpaid or precarious work, young women, senior women, and women living with disabilities.

On motion of Eva Nassif, it was agreed, — That the report of the Subcommittee be concurred in.

At 9:42 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:46 a.m., the sitting resumed.

The Committee resumed its study of the economic security of women in Canada.

Jacqueline Andersen, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, Sarah Simpson, Denise Watters and Laurel Douglas, by teleconference from Kelowna, British Columbia, made statements and answered questions.

At 10:43 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
