Minutes of Proceedings
The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.
It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Taking Action to End Violence Against Women and Girls in Canada".
It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.
ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House by Monday, April 3, 2017.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.
It was agreed, — That the Committee send a copy of the report to the Minister for the Status of Women.
It was agreed, — That dissenting and/or supplementary opinions be in Arial 12 point font, single spacing, justified alignment, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
It was agreed, — That the Analyst and the Clerk , in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution by Monday, April 3, 2017.
It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held by Monday, April 3, 2017; and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.
It was agreed, — That, in addition to the 50 copies printed by the House, the Committee print additional copies of the Report for stakeholders mentioned in the Report, with the exception of post-secondary institutions, who will receive an electronic copy of the Report.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee undertake a study of the Main Estimates 2017-18: Votes 1 and 5 under Office of the Co-ordinator, Status of Women on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
It was agreed, — That the deadline for the submission of briefs for the study on economic security of women in Canada be extended until Monday, May 15, 2017.
